My name is Alyssa Stines and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose specialties include trauma and addiction. I work individually and in groups with adults struggling with either or both of these issues. Many times, people who struggle with anxiety, depression and substance abuse have unresolved trauma from their past. I find using a framework that includes identifying and healing trauma to be effective.
Some of the methods I specialize in include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) and Brainspotting for trauma resolution. The common thread running through these methods is that they each rely on something you already possess, your body and brain's ability to heal themselves. These tools just allow you to harness this healing in a different way. I have provided links to each of these methods that will provide a more detailed explanation. Just click on the method above and you will be taken to another page in a new tab.
I see clients for therapy by appointment only.
Our first session will consist of us getting to know each other, creating your therapy goals and letting me get a better idea of your history and what it is that brought you to my office. From here, we can work together to begin to establish a plan for your treatment and how often we need to meet.
The initial appointment is a 75 minute session where the two of us can get to know each other and I can find out more about what you hope to achieve in therapy. Usually sessions after this are 50 minutes but can be scheduled for longer based on your individual needs. I also offer 3 day individual intensives if you currently feel "stuck" and need a more rigorous treatment approach.
